This is an incredible development - clean, simple, and effective.

The fact that all the XP drivers (except for the iSight) are fully functional is particularly noteworthy - I've seen Windows-only manufacturers who cannot provide working drivers for their products for months after they are offered for sale.

For people worrying about virii - don't panic. It is extremely unlikely that a Windows virus could propagate to the Mac side of things. Furthermore, it isn't that difficult to prevent infections on Windows - keep the OS and antimalware up to date, use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, don't run untrusted software, and things will most likely be fine.

For people who can't see why one would want to run Windows on a Mac, I would remind them that there exist numerous software programs without OS X equivalents (not just games) that are essential to people carrying out their jobs. Furthermore, contrary to myth, many of these Windows programs are well-designed and written. It'll be great to be able to run them without having to resort to the cost and headaches associated with maintaining separate Windows machines.

Hopefully, the next stage will be a full-fledged virtualization solution…
