Kind of. It's to restore your firmware after you unsuccessfully tried to update it and your Intel Mac is no longer starting up (properly). I suppose it will probably let you downgrade your firmware as well.Wednesday, April 05 2006 @ 06:36 PM PDT

The Apple Knowledge Base article says that it can only be used after an interrupted or failed Firmware update attempt. It doesn't sound like you can use it after a successful Firmware update.Tuesday, September 19 2006 @ 11:51 PM PDT
x86 Firmware Restoration CD 1.1 - biga919
the cd cannot function well at my macbook(firmware:1.4f10),i power on my macbook and hold down the power button until the LED blinks rapidly followed immediately
by a successive series of blinks, after that i heard a startup beep sound is played and the macbook
straight to Tiger OSX without notice any of (3 quick blinks, 3 slow blinks, 3 quick blinks) as the readme.rtf mentioned.
i apply restoration CD since my current firmware:1.4f10 on my macbook leds the system fan speed in full operation
which creats annoying noise during operation.
am i have any steps missing in the use of firmware restoration CD 1.1 ??

Nevertheless, this sounds like one of those CD tool/utility discs to have around in case one picks up an old Mac intel sometime in the future and by chance may need this.Sunday, January 14 2007 @ 04:54 PM PST

you din't try to update your firmware to a new one, this is to restore it after you installed the new firmware.Reply to This
