This software does everything it claims to do and does it efficiently. My son is certainly happy with the way it lets him chat to his PC-using friends on the family Mac. Microsoft does not charge for it, and has no obligation to continue supporting it, so there's no real justification for many of the negative reviews posted here.
Anyone really desperate for the Windows-only features should consider buying themselves a cheap windows box and a Belkin switcher that lets them run a PC and a Mac side by side using the same keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, etc. That's what I did. And it's great... just a tap on the foot-switch to toggle effortlessly between XP and OS X. (Not so useful if you're on a lap-top, though. Gaffer-taping an iBook and a Dell Inspiron 1300 back-to-back doesn't quite cut the mustard, all things considered.)
