Doesn't work for me

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Contributed by: lazertag Wednesday, March 29 2006 @ 03:52 AM PST

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

When I click 'start' in the Launcher, the screen flashes black then goes back to the Launcher window in half a second. The console has the following error:

Error: FuhQuake couldn't load the required "libpng.so" library. You must either:
i) (recommended) download the required libraries from www.fuhquake.net, or
ii) specify "-nolibpng" on the cmdline to disable png image features.

When I use the option "-nolibpng" it gives me the same error, this time regarding "libjpeg.so" so I use "-nolibjpeg" as well. Now it gets to the QUake Console and fails looking for a config file, or something. I'll try more stuff when I get home from work.

Doesn't work for me - Unix_Maximus

this version has a bug in it and creator is being notified as now it does not even bring up any error messages. It does not even work or open up to play.

Untrue, I got it to work. - lazertag

"It does not even work or open up to play."

Not quite true. It just doesn't work very well. Here is how to get it to work.

In the launcher, go to FuhQuake:Preferences. In the "Additional Parameters" section, put "-nolibpng -nolibjpeg" without the quotes, of course. Close that, click the start button. If it works on your machine as it's working on mine, this will get you to the console where it will say 'Cannot load config file' or something like that. This is ok, just hit escape and you're in the menu.
