This “program” is not much more than a pointer to the Southwest website. Clicking on one of the buttons takes you the Southwest website. The only thing the “program” really does is display announcements from southwest.

The other thing it does is to install itself into your login items. So Ding is launched everytime you restart your computer or login to it. It does not ask your permission to do this.

That said if you do fly southwest a lot and need to make reservations for cars and hotels as well then this program could cut down on a lot of click on their website. For frequent cheap flyers this “program” could be a really time saver when planning flights.
