Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 6-12 months

Recommend Product: NO

If there was a spyware threat this would be a good thing to have. If it detects trojans and keyloggers that would be nice to have. I ran a full scan with nothing found. Spyware definitions were over three months old and supposed to update automatically. On second launch the definitions were updated to the exact time they were checked. Very suspicious. Based on other reviews and my experience I can't recommend this product!

Nice idea - macsec

Greetings,
By default MacScan does not automatically download the new spyware definitions. To have MacScan download the updated spyware definitions launch MacScan, from the MacScan menu select the preferences option and check the option to automatically download the definitions upon launch. If you had this option checked please email macsec@securemac.com and let us know what OS you were using, and if you launched MacScan while in authenticated mode each time.
