So how do you update boot volumes on external firewire drives? Hmmm?Friday, May 12 2006 @ 02:05 AM PDT

Possible Firewire solution - MacMuser
Before you do anything "bad" to get Firewire back, try the following.Turn off your Mac. Disconnect all Firewire devices and if in a chain, separate them. Disconnect the Mac and Firewire devices from their power supply (take the plug/s out the wall socket).
Wait for a minute or so then restart Mac. Plug in first Firewire device and hopefully it will be recognised and you can rebuild the chain.
