I have tried httpmail before (I believe it was on Jaguar). It used to work fine back then, if I remember correctly. I figured I wanted to be able to check my Hotmail account from within Mail again, so I downloaded and installed the newest version of the plugin (1.47a).
When I enter all of my Hotmail information, though, and go to checking the account, the incoming mail server cannot be found. I followed the Read Me's instructions carefully, checking them twice, but these settings just don't seem to work. Of course, I also ran both terminal commands, so I should be set, right? I ran Mail's Connection Doctor, and it says the incoming mail server is perfectly available, but the outgoing mail server is not. But if the incoming server can be found, why can't it check for e-mail then? Ver weird...
Does anybody else have this problem too? I've since tried reinstalling the plugin several times, enter the information again and again, but all without result. Well, all without the expected result, that is.
By the way, I'm on Mac OS X 10.4.5, so the 10.4.3 bug shouldn't affect me. Mail version is 2.0.5 (746/746.2). Thanks for any help!

Last I knew, you had to pay for the POP service at Hotmail. so as long as you have a paid account you can access the hotmail account with HTTPMail. If you don't have a paid account, you won't be able to get your e-mail via HTTPMail.Anybody clarify this? Did things change?
