While it is true that GraphicConverter X is extremely complex, the user interface is extremely helpful. I have yet to purchase the manual, but I probably will get around to it. The layout is now much cleaner than the earlier versions, and I believe it is more intuitive as well. The blown-up portion--with which you may easily examine different portions of the frame by clicking and dragging the red rectangle--can save a tremendous amount of time in evaluating whether your image is dead sharp, or whether you might better trash it and try again.
You may see from the tremendous number of downloads an indication of how many of us find this a useful application: the downside of that is it may take a while to get queued up for your own download. Believe me, it is worth the wait, and worth the money. Mr. Lemke is the most responsive designer I have corresponded with to date, as is indicated by the frequent updates.
