Suggestions for the author:
1. Lose the exceedingly cheesy backstory about there being a trap with ancient keyboard commands to get out. That's just lame.
2. Do something to make the game rely less on sheer luck. Perhaps a preview of the next piece a la Tetris? Or the ability to mirror the piece instead of just rotating it?
3. Why do the pieces all fall down when links are made? Nothing else in the game has gravity, so why is there suddenly gravity at just this one lone time?

Thanks for posting a comment. Cheesy backstory? That's your opinion, and other people might not agree. This gives the game a fantasy element, somewhere to relax and enjoy playing, free from life's worries. The game is less about luck than problem-solving, matching, and planning. Matching both shapes and colors effectively is the key to Ashalii. With some power-ups available, it's not really necessary to know pieces in advance. Luck is a part of the game, but it's up to you to take advantage of it.
Gravity is a crucial part of the game, freeing space and allowing additional matches. Play it a few times and you'll see why it's there. And no, that's not correct--gravity isn't only activated after making a connection. It also comes into play when you place pieces into the board; they drop into place. The pieces are stuck together into shapes, so they only settle indivually after other pieces are removed from the board.
Ashalii is a unique and challenging game--it's not a copy of another game, so it may surprise you and some parts may be new to you. That's the whole idea! Thanks for playing.
Best wishes,
