This is a nice little app which I *would* choose to use without hesitation...BUT...you are unable to either amend the 'Genre' categories OR add your own. This is very limiting when it comes to sorting. Anyone with a sizeable book collection will no doubt have particular, often esoteric interests, and their library will reflect this - but 'Books 3.0a8' won't. For example, I have a large poetry collection but am unable to sub-categorise the corresponding entries,(i.e modern/french/irish/american), but have to lump them under the pre-defined, vague "Poetry" heading. A glaring omission which may not seem much but is certainly making this user look to other products (& it's one I don't mind paying for either, so shareware it is).

My apologies Chris. I was sure I had tried to do that. Anyway, I have downloaded a10 and will be posting a new review once I've input some data. As I said before - I thought the app was great, just the one problem - which it seems I was mistaken about.Saturday, April 08 2006 @ 06:42 AM PDT

You are not right, and simply hastened to point a flaw, which does not exist in fact. If the reason was to count down stars, choose something else.Tuesday, April 04 2006 @ 11:04 AM PDT

You have always been free to freely type in whatever genres you wished in Books. The pull down list was merely a set of suggestions. However, 3.0a9 has been updated so that the suggestions provided by the drop down are editable in the preferences.Reply to This
