Pen Dragon, "responsive about support for Watson" , your kidding right. What these people did to us Watson users is still sending shockwaves. You can expect the same with this app. We are still waiting for that Sun version of Watson years later. They out right lied to us. I personally think sun bought Watson to kill it. This company said it was coming soon, trust them, I think not. I'm not saying that their apps are junk, they aren't. They are the best, but don't look for any loyalty.

Between Karelia, Lighthouse, and Cobalt, it's hard to think of anything Sun has bought that they didn't burn to the ground.Thursday, May 11 2006 @ 01:09 PM PDT

This is wrong on so many levels.Apple blatantly stole Karelias ideas on how to provide a great interface to publicly available web services and put them into Sherlock, where they let them languish and die. If you think this isn't the case, then you really couldn't be more wrong. Apple did it and did it with malice, and didn't even say "thank you" to Karelia when they introduced their "Watson killer".
Karelia had no idea but to entertain offers from other companies so that they could make some of their R&D investment back from all of the time that they put into their product. Wouldn't you?
Then SUN came along and offered them some cash.... it doesn't take a genius to know that it was a good deal, so they sold it. Part of the deal was to EOL Watson on the Mac. Then the main developer from Karelia went to work for SUN to work on it -- everything was on the up-and-up. Port it to Java, put it on every platform, make Apple's Sherlock look like the sh*t it turned out to be. What's not to like?
Well, the answer to that is Java. And SUN. SUN killed the product when it turned out not to be the "slam dunk" port that SUN thought it would be.
So rather than turning your anger towards Karelia, perhaps you should turn it toward Apple and SUN. They are the 2 companies responsible for the demise of Watson.
