Cocktail 3.7 works beautifully with Mac OS X 10.4.5. It is a wonderful utility that is easy-to-use, and powerful. It's GUI interface makes running a multitude of Unix based maintenance commands as simple as point and click. You can also schedule custom maintenance routines to be performed during the middle of then night when you are at sleep. In my opinion, Cocktail is a "must-have" for anybody who is serious about day-to-day maintenance of their Mac.

Works Great in Tiger (OS X 10.4.5) - Yaldaboath

Ho Ho! That's funny. The only maintenance routines that are necessary in Mac OS X already run in the middle of the night when you are asleep. The rest of Cocktail's functions are for addressing specific problems. If you don't have the relevant problems then you are wasting your money and your Mac's time.

Many Macs are Shut Down at Night - Polar11

Many people, myself included, shut down their macs every night so the nightly maintenance routines do not get run unless invoked manually. Cocktail is an easy way to run the daily, weekly and monthly scripts along with other helpful routines such as repairing disk permissions, etc. with one easy click.

Have a look at Anacron, then. Free and completely automatic: You'll never have to worry about the daily, weekly and monthly tasks again.

I second that. Install Anacron and forget about daily, weekly monthly routines.
