Hey aspyr,how about removing the g3 detection from this game,and all the other games from you people that lockout us g3 users from even launching your games.You know this game would probably play decent on a 1.1GHz g3 with a radeon 9200,all other games play well.This g3 checking is very annoying.Does this game even use altivec?What is the purpose of this forced g4/g5 requirement anyways?It makes no sense to me.I will never make the mistake of purchasing a aspyr game again.

you know this commercial with this guy in a traffic jam? In the car in front of him is a little kid making funny faces at him.Then the guy slowly pulls up this bag of McDonalds french fries, leaving the kid with a wry smile on his face cos he knows he got pwnd.
That's sorta what's happening here, with me slowly pulling out one of my Macs that actually can play Doom 3.
have a good weekend.

You pwnd me?Well,I have no desire to play this game on the mac anymore,I just bought a new amd64(1.6 ghz) box with a geforce 6600(pci-e),512 MB of ram and I get around 60 fps on doom 3 under linux with the highest settings and 1024x768 resolution.This just goes to show you how much better programming is coming from ID software then from aspyr.The whole computer only cost me around 350 bucks,I bought all the parts and put it together myself(hence the cheapness).Linux is now my main operating system,I am very happy with it.So long aspyr(and apple),long live Linux.Other thoughts ;
your very expensive/overpriced power book just got pwnd(I hate that word) by my 350 dollar cheapo PC.

Well, I never said my Powerbook was any good for games, just that it can (barely) play Doom 3. Your oblivious whining about Aspyr, who, for obvious reasons of market scale/share, can never spend the resources Id can on optimising for a platform, is what prompted my response.If I made money playing Doom 3, I'd not have this PB, nor the Dual-core G5. But these are fantastic machines for the purpose for which they were bought, and they let one play the occasional game too. I guess we have different priorities.

are you delusional? A large amount of time was spent during the port finding more ways to get the game to use altivec to even get this game running on any Mac.It barelly runs on a 1.33GHz G4 Powerbook with an 64Mb FX5200, and you think it could run on 1.1 GHz G3 without altivec and a graphics card even more pathetic then the 5200?
get real.
