They ruined it. I am so upset. So jaded- so frustrated. Totally betrayed. I was going to buy this. I was so excited to see Enigmo 2, blown-away and almost brought to tears as it was starting. Then, it happened. Always does. Despite all the new graphics, music, enchanting space theme, and, ehem, lasers- ACTUAL LASERS- like actual long, continuous lines (not chop-chops), (you know, how like lasers really are).. Yes dispite this, it is a failure, a complete piece of garbage, and for one reason, and one reason only. (AND IT WASN'T LIKE THIS IN THE ORIGINAL ENIGMO). Are you ready folks?
Playability.
When you first select an object (pale, mirror etc..) it's fine, but then a 'highlighting ring' apears which is used to rotate it.
IT'S TOO D .. .. .. .. SMALL! TOO THIN!
I can't believe this- call me a nitpicker, I don't care; but I'm right. They are wrong and I am right, and until they fix it do not buy this product. DO NOT SUPPORT THE DENEGRATION OF PLAYABILITY WITH NEW GRAPHICS. THIS IS THE TRAGIC MISTAKE. Join with me and write them so that I am not the only one calling this out. I would've emailed them first but this has to happen now.
In the original this ring was WIDER. Yes, WIDER. You didn't have to conciously and tediously position your mouse right on the ring and click. (And yes I know once you do it, THEN you can freely position). They could easily keep the new cool blue look, only make it wider or make it function like before. (I think what you did is click the object to activate it and the positioning ring was already active and you could just go ANYWHERE within it.
Try it: if you're not TOTALLY P'D that they betrayed you by making you center -in on this 3 pixel wide ring first which you have to click on, totally disrupting the ease and flow of the original game then fine. If not, demand that they change it.
Excitement, emotion, and pain. What a shame. This was a truly wonderful game.

This is a democratic software forum for giving feedback, not a place for name calling. I could easily use the 'alert administrator button' and your comment would be history, but instead I'll leave it so you can be reminded of your behavior. If this was a job I would be warned and you would be fired.Incidently the first version is still available for download. Let the people be the judge.

I agree that the ring is not really easy to pick so it's difficult to get a high bonus because you lose some time trying to. Anyway, it's still possible and not that hard to pick it. You can still play the game and resolve the puzzles. So it does not ruin the game and your rating is *really* too harsh.

I played Enigmo 1 a bunch and just tried the demo of Enigmo 2. Do I feel "betrayed" by this "complete piece of garbage"? Do I feel that Pangea has made a "TRAGIC MISTAKE"? Is "[Pangea] wrong and [Jon Appold] right"? No.I disagree with Jon's extreme nit-picking. While the rotation ring is a bit more difficult to grab, I think that in the big picture there are plenty other issues that demand our attention. The size of the rotation ring in a $30 game is the least of my worries.

Wow! So, just because you thought the control ring was too thin you have to go on this long rant about how that makes the game a complete failure?! So much rage about something so minor on a computer game. And then, simply because of this minor issue, a lame complaint (I have no problem using the ring) you give the game a 1 star rating!? Despite the fact that I don't see any real major problem with the control ring being thinner, even if I agreed with you about it I can't imagine how you justify your rating of it. You have serious personal issues. Jerk.Reply to This
