I haven't tried Boom Recorder and I am not denigrating it in anyway. I'm simply asking a question.
We are a small production house looking for an application to record backup sound as well as sounds for FX. I already have Garage Band which serves the purpose though I'd like something a little less encumbered.
I'm not sure I want some thing $150 worth.
Is it worth it?

yes, the price is certainly entry level! i'm not sure i understand anyone making recording (part of) their business, and then only accepting that a piece of quality hardware may have a price tag on it... must-have freeware and $25 shareware products are few and far between. This is because it takes a couple of person-years to develop a full featured quality product and people need to live! ;-)Tuesday, June 13 2006 @ 03:44 PM PDT

If I understand your needs, this is not for you. You'd be better off with Amadeus, Sound Studio etc. This application is a software equivalent of a DAT recorder, and then some! If you work in film, TV or similar and want to transform your PowerBook into a professional field recorder, this software is both awesome and cheap!
