Updater works ok, if ...

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

The download worked without a problem, from Intuit's ftp server via the VersionTracker link, using Safari 2.0.3. The .hqx file decodes fine with StuffIt Expander and the disk image mounts.

The updater is stupid: It couldn't find my copy of Quicken on a second internal hard drive. After I copied Quicken to the /Applications folder, the update went through. No problems with the updated version yet.

Updater works ok, if ... - TECHWORKS

There are many apps that don't deal with having the target install located where they don't expect it to. Seems that's what happened here the installer gives up/hangs when the target is elsewhere in this case.

Have you filed the info with their help desk or on their web site. I've found Quicken to be somewhat responsive.

As a suggestion you might consider having the applications located in the root directory. In my case /yourbootdrive/Applications. Not the user directory ~/Applications, or on another drive.
