open the file with quicktime -> export the file, or use mpegstreamclip which is faster and has more options

so yeah exactly what IS the problem with this FREE app that does what you normally have to shell out money for?people will take any chance they can get to run their mouths under some deep seated need to crush those around them, but only on the internet! the freedom of (relative) anonymity comes with a price I suppose.
I have QTPro and I use these apps interchangeably. if I have a file I don't have to look at or edit before conversion, it's just easier to drop it in this app which doesn't take up as much memory nor does it cause the fans in my MacBook 3,1 to start up as if watching a dreadful flash stream.

No I am not kidding! Why so angry?To do as you described you will have to pay some bucks to get the QuickTime PRO version, which will allow this, my app is for free.
