It'd be nice if they could've mentioned that it's no longer free for non-commercial use. I'll be sticking with 2.2 from now on, I guess. $35 for a text editor is a little steep for my tastes.

If you are eligible, we have educational licenses for $19.95 which is quite a bit lower.

I'm eligible, but you have inspired me to write my own text editor in Cocoa and distribute it under GPL.

Until then, I'll stick with vim, emacs, kedit, kate, TextWrangler, nano, pico, gvim, xemacs, and the other 200 or so free alternatives.

It was nice while it lasted. Thanks anyway.
