I am adjusting my "star based review" with another one. I WILL echo bulletproofsoul's comment about rendering speed, and OmniWeb is nowhere nearly on par with other browsers in that department, it is PAINFULLY SLOW. Of late I have been playing Neopets games with my children, and found OmniWeb crashes when loading a Shockwave player game such as Slots. The window goes black as if trying to load the applet and stays black. If I try to close it the Crash Reporter comes alive to submit and quit. This happened with 5.1.2 as well. Flash and other plugins play well, but all in all OmniWeb is just too slow and unstable for my everyday use regardless of it's "customization abilities".
I am not altogether sure WebKit would be an improvement seeing all the isues with Safari and Shiira and how Java and certain plugins play with THEM. Personally I use Firefox 1.5.0.1 With Adblock and Fasterfox extensions, and a custom user.js file and that gives me excellent web site compatibility and overall stability.

Umm... I believe it already uses Webkit, doesn't it? - JKT
No, OmniWeb doesn't yet use WebKit - it currently uses a modified version of WebCore. OmniWeb 5.5 will be the first version to use WebKit (and this is only possible because Apple open sourced WebKit relatively recently in development terms).Sunday, February 05 2006 @ 10:48 AM PST
