I used to use Sticky Brain, but it grew cumbersome and insisted on installing OpenBase.

Yojimbo reminds me of the halcyon days when Sticky Brain was still a small, simple product. I actually hope that Bare Bones resist the temptation to bolt everything but the kitchen sink on to the product.

I especially like: the ability to print to Yojimbo, the PF8 shortcut that pre-populates the details of the item to be added and the overall look and feel of the application (much more modern looking than BBEdit).

I also don't believe that the product is overpriced. It seems a pretty fair price for what is offered.
