If, like me, you find StickyBrain or DevonThink too bloated, but find digital notebooks too simple, give this app a try.
What I like:
The interface is clean and elegant.
The Drop Dock tab/tray makes it very easy to drop information into Yojimbo, as does the Quick Input Panel.
There is syncing across computers using .Mac.
There is optional encryption for any document or folder.
And I love the smart folders for URLs, Web Archives and Serial Numbers. (The Serial numbers template is equally useful for any type of registration or inventory information.)
Contrary to another review, while the EDUCATIONAL license is limited to one user and one machine, the INDIVIDUAL license supports any number of machines, but only one user.
I like it so much I'm going to buy it.

License terms never changed :-) - BBSW3
rpphoto: at the risk of sounding contrary :-), the license terms have always been as they are posted on the product introduction page here. Specifically, a single-user license allows you to install your Yojimbo on as many computers as you would like - you're just the only one allowed to use them. However, if you find wording on our web site that says otherwise, please do let us know by writing to "webmaster@barebones.com" and we'll be sure to fix it to match reality.

Elegant and useful app - rpphoto555
It's interesting that they changed the user-license agreement. When this item was first posted on their site, the license specifically said one user and one machine in all cases. I even double-checked the wording several times. They must have realized the error and changed it. Now I'll buy it, since I like those terms better. I also like this better than StickyBrain, and I'm sure it will get better and better since this is only version 1. There are a few file-types that StickyBrain handles that this doesn't (movies, odd files), so I'm hoping they'll add support for more things...Reply to This
