Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

OK, so pages works well, and is of course, very Mac like.
Ok, so it has some themes, and is flexible.

BUT 853 MB INSTALLED ?? !! ??
That has Got To Be called B L O A T E D !!

(Just to put it in perspective, MS Office 2004, complete install with All Templates, every program, every option, every update, every plugin installed is 442 MB.

*** This is not a comparison to MS Office 2004, so go bash MS at its own review page, thank you very much *******

I thought that was large until I saw the iLife 06 installer, more than 7 gigs!

The reason that Pages is 853MB is because of the languages that get installed with the program that you will NEVER use. This is the same with all the iLife 06' applications.

To remove the languages, run Macaroni. You can download a free 35 day trial and run the Remove localized files option. Download Macaroni here: http://atomicbird.com/

Macaroni is installed as a system preference under other. Click Macaroni and when it opens, double click "Mac OS X Remove Localized Files" enter your administrator password. When the window drops down, click Configure. PLEASE READ the information at the top before you do anything. After reading, select the languages that you don't use and want to remove and click ok. Now, click Run Job Now and you will end up freeing up lots of hard disk space.

I hope these instructions are clear and helpful.

Oops. Monolingual only removes files from OSX not from applications.

Macaroni will work and it's very easy to use. You can remove it after the 35 days or purchase it, if you like it. I use Macaroni and it's a great program.
