Compared to Little Snitch?

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Contributed by: friedchikkin Tuesday, January 17 2006 @ 10:37 AM PST

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

I was considering a program akin to Little Snitch (maybe this one?). I used a similar program at work on WindowsXP that halted the "usefulness" of adware and spyware by denying network access to the programs no matter how the heck they got on my PC— that also killed the "What?! Where the hell did that come from?!" pop-ups that I'm still waiting to gain ground on Mac OS X... but I'd like to prevent/pre-empt that.

Has anyone tried this as well as Little Snitch? thanks

I use this program along with the companion DoorStop X Firewall and Little Snitch. They all play well together.

BTW, this program isn't a substitute for Little Snitch. Totally different functions.

I used Little Snitch and was quite happy with it. Once business picks up again Little Snitch will get paid for and reinstalled.

What I did not like about Little Snitch was the pop ups after I had blocked the world out. Not the web's pop ups but Little snitches screen.
