Feedback Type:  Review

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I have to revise my stars to 1. I uploaded a picture and got an email that it had to be approved first before they went into production so I waited for an email asking me for approval. Finally I emailed them this morning to cancel and mysteriously they had approved it on their own and started production the afternoon that I had I emailed them so they refused to cancel. Strange timing coincidence.
I can no longer reccomend them based on my interaction with them.

I think there may have been some confusion, your image must be approved by the USPS for printing, so there's a period where your image is waiting for approval, not from you the customer, but from the USPS. Then once it is approved, we go into production.

I am sorry that was unclear and we'll try to make the process smoother.

Hello. I'm Vice President of Marketing at Endicia. I saw your posting and wanted to see if I can be a resource to you and any others who want to know more about our product. This is my first time posting; I'll do my best but I'll also give you contact information.

When a customer orders PictureItPostage, Endicia looks at the customer's picture to make sure that the image is appropriate and meets the guidelines of the program. Each order is screened by a member of Endicia's staff and this normally takes a day or two. Once the image has been approved, it goes into production. The approval is done by Endicia, not by the customer. If you would like to learn more about the process, feel free to call me 650-321-2640 x135 or Mark@Endicia.com

I must say - I'm impressed as hell at the customer service response to this complaint.

While there was a misunderstanding, I'm not going to side with one side or the other in the dispute.

But it *does* seem that Endecia has made a serious effort to explain themselves and make nice.

They weren't waiting for YOUR approval; they have to review and approve your image before they can legally print it.
They're not permited to print any number of types of images: pornography, copyrighted images, etc. etc.
If they printed yours, that means THEY approved your image.

I don't get it, The above responses sound like the USPS approves it, but later a poster from the company said that the company itself approves it?

Sorry for any confusion. Endicia's staff is responsible for viewing the image and deciding whether to pass or reject it. USPS has established minimum guidelines to judge the appropriateness of images but Endicia has the option to add additional criteria if we would like to. The vast majority of images pass our screening. They are nice shots of kids and pets and families together or of business logos. The types of images that get rejected are ones where it is clear that the customer does not own the image (copy right) or ones that promote a specific political agenda where the making of the postage is intended to create a forum for public dispute. Again, these types of images are few and far between.
