This is a very useful program, and the "lite" verion is free and totally functional for basic filesharing needs. What it does, among other things, is to make it possible for windows clients to see and download Macintosh files even if they have characters in their names which are "illegal" in Windows (such as quotes, slashes, etc). Samba can't do that. Also, with Samba on Windows clients, you have to remember an arcane IP address like smb://username@comutername/foldername, or something like that. This program makes it so a complete beginner can see and share files. I highly recommend it for this use.

On the basis of the lite version, I bought a 4-license "Pro" version. Now I am having trouble downloading from a Mac to a PC - transering large folders usually stops somewhere in the middle. I have to keep restarting the program and doing the transfer as an "update" to get the whole thing. Bummer.Reply to This
