I experienced the same thing with the latest update I installed last night. I have deleted Butler and have gone back to 'glacial' Spotlight (oh the pain). I hope the author of Butler can quickly fix whatever the latest OS X update broke. I miss this application more than any other.Wednesday, January 11 2006 @ 07:36 PM PST

10.4.4 Causes Hang - Peter Maurer
Haven't seen any problems with 10.4.4 or QT 7.0.4. Have you tried repairing permissions on your boot drive? And do you happen to have Butler's splash window enabled? If so, what does it say when Butler hangs?
Please contact me via e-mail for further trouble-shooting: <mail@petermaurer.de>.

10.4.4 Hang: maybe not.. a FIX? - Dantre
Not sure this is a 10.4.4 problem. For a fix try this..delete Pasteboards.plist from ~/user/library/application support/Butler/

It seems that the problem is caused by QT 7.0.4. I had this problem before upgrading to 10.4.4.Gerald
