every few months I run into references to a free version of EIMS, but I've never been able to track it down - even though it's supposed to be available on Eudora/Qualcomm.
so: is it real? where is it? I'm certainly not spending $400 on this in order to find out if I can make use of it!

So the "free" version is "free", as in 'kicked to the curb'.... Of course abandonware is free: no-one will buy it.And USD400 for the "real" version?
I'll just leave it the curb!

The DEMO version is here - link in msg - Krioni
Get the demo version here:http://www.eudora.co.nz/demo.html
Last I checked, you can run this with all features for 60 days. I think you can run it after that, but it requires a quit and relaunch every few hours (24 hours?). Anyway, 2 months is plenty to test whether it would work.

Version 1.3 was free but you don't want it.Even though there was a command to not allow relaying, it was weak and easily bypassed. You learn to say words like "blacklisted", because you will be.
That takes the fun out.

The free version is still available for download at ftp://ftp.qualcomm.com/eudora/eims1/131/eims131.sea.hqx,, but it it very limited and runs under System 7. Maybe it will run under 8 and 9 too, haven't used it for ages...Reply to This
