Possible upgrade bug

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Contributed by: Tomnibus Monday, January 09 2006 @ 09:56 AM PST

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

I installed the latest Saft (8.2.2) and after restarting Safari it gave me a continuous beachball as windows just popped up every 1 second. None of them loaded a website they just were spinning as if looking for a site.

I force-quit it after 17 windows appeared with no end in sight.

I downgraded and then cleared out my saved browser windows: File -> Delete Saved Browser Window -> Delete all

and then upgraded again and it is working fine, so far.

Possible upgrade bug - Tomnibus

It seems even though the "restore at start" is NOT checked in the Misc Prefs of Saft. It's doing it anyway.

My Work-around - Tomnibus

Incidentally I worked around this by turning off the saving of browser windows and cleared them in the file menu.

Same problem...when "Save browser window when quitting" IS checked...I get 2! browser windows when launching Safari, when I used to get just 1.
