I tried the free version for about a week. It didn't work with a lot of web sites including the Daily Show as already mentioned. After uninstalling it- btw found hidden on the web site under Q&A - should be in text file of install- and checking to make sure all the files were removed WMP won't stop crashing. Right on launch. So I unsinstalled that and did a fresh install- Still no go. Then I re-installed Tiger. Nope. This is serious bad dope my friends - and it looks like I am the dope. I had some nice e-mails from them - but they don't take any credit for this - but it is way too coincidental. And after all it is a seriously involved bit of programming to be able to rewrite these types of files-Maybe the pro version avoids this situation- one can only hope.
Don't do it- QT is great but wmp ain't bad- at least it wasn't

don't chance it - cseeman
You might try going to Flip4Mac support forum.It plays MPEG4v1, MPEG4v1.1, MPEG4v2, MPEG4v3, WMV7, WMV8, WMV9. This is almost ALL WMV files.
It has issues with WMV Screen and WMV Image files which are rare. Sounds like you have an issue with your system or you're not reporting the version of the WMV file correctly.

don't chance it - Aikousha
I don't know about that, but I tried the previous version which came out seriously after the WMV3 and WMV9 codecs, and it said it would handle all the WMP files. Not only does it NOT work with any WMV3 or WMV9 files, on about 50% of the files I threw at it, that did play (these are files that will not play in the Mac WMP), 50% of them almost immediately unsync'd with the audio, and just got worse as the longer it played.
I don't know why a simple set of codecs for the Quicktime Player cannot be made (licensing and copyright issues? - and Microsoft saying "F YOU" to mac users twice again) but it's a codec like any other, and should be able to work just like the 12 or so others, including the AVI player I have...
This program is worthless if it cannot play the two main codecs unplayable by WMP.
