My httpmail worked fine until this morning, now it hangs the entire mail program upon launch. I have to force quit.
After uninstalling, as per the readme, Mail launches fine, so the problem is definitely with httpmail.
httpmail plugin
The plugin has been withdrawn due to the fact the Microsoft is discontinuing the HTTPMail protocol on September 1st 2009.

Uh, I installed it exactly as the instructions said the first time. It's not difficult; you just use the installer app.And as you'll see from other posts, it IS a problem with the plugin. Apparently, it hangs the whole mail app when it can't connect to the server to check for updates.
The author should add a time-out function if it can't connect within 5 seconds or something.

Same here. Today the hotmail account just disappeared. When I went to restart mail.app it wouldn't quit, so I had to force quit. Haven't got it working again. http://www.automagic-software.com/ this site isn't up anymore either. I keep trying to trouble shoot...please let us know if anyone has a similar problem, and they get it sorted.
thanks.

The two statements: "worked fine until this morning" and "the problem is definitely with httpmail" don't go together. Just because things were OK after uninstalling the plugin proves nothing - there are other factors which may be involved. Why don't you try re-installing paying a lot of attention to Daniel's instructions. Also, if you were right you would see many posts like yours; where are they??
