...I'm quite sure this update was released in November of last year. So, I'm guessing 99% of people already have this firmware.

I'd *always* recommend to run the system's built-in Software Update ("SU")functionality -- it will clearly tell you whether this update is available for your specific hardware/software configuration.

In case it's available and you feel uncomfortable to download it via SU, you can download it directly at apple anyway.

Ok, usually the available downloads listed on Apple's web site and received via SU need some 24 hours or so to get in sync... shouldn't really matter, though.
