magical stuff to those of you who contribute to/create stuff like ffmpeg(x);
faster than QT Pro, access to a huge variety of formats...i just started doing some video transfers for my video ipod, and it works like a dream...i get an error message at the end when outputting h.264 about my FPS not matching, and the audio needing to be a different khz, but it still runs fine via both QT and (most importantly) on my 5g ipod. someone mentioned minimizing while using (in progress conversions) - good hint for saving some processing power, for some reason. if you seem to be encountering strange errors on a 'typical' mac system, don't forget there's great sites all over with help on vid/audio codecs/conversion in general, and this one in particular.
essential and awesome. showers of good things to those involved. ;-)
