I highly recommend Ghost Sphere. I am not a programmer or hacker, but I now a few tricks, none of which worked to reveal the hidden folders or their contents. If you use a system utility to "Show Invisible items", your hidden folder does Not show-up. I have tested this with: Onyx, Cocktail, MainMenu, TinkerTool, InVisibles, and RootMachine. With other software for the hiding of folders, the hidden folders do show-up with the above mentioned utilities. I am told that with the appropriate knowledge and utility, the hidden folders could be found and accessed. High security comes at the cost of encryption time. For those who want speed and convenience, Ghost Sphere gives the best security you are going to get, without actually encrypting all of the data.
For Higher Security, Ghost Sphere Pro allows you to create encrypted Secure Vaults.
For very high security of small amounts of date, such as bank and Credit Card info, serial numbers, etc. I use Password Retriever, which has 448 bit BlowFish. However, Password Retriever does not allow for the protection of large amounts of data, picture, movies, or documents. So, Ghost Sphere fills the gap for me very nicely with its Secure Vaults.
I backup my internal drive to an external Firewire drive, using Tri-Backup. The hidden folders backed up to to external drive perfectly, and remained hidden on the external drive.
The developer has responded to my questions rapidly and clearly and is open to feedback and ideas. I have not encountered any bugs or problems. I highly recommend Ghost Sphere.
