Interesting utility, but if a problem shows up in the log (flip failure at some imcomprehensible address) there's no explanation of what exactly this means in terms of operational significance nor any advice as to what steps should be taken to correct the problem. This is like hooking your car up to a diagnostic machine and having the machine declare "Your car has a problem". Nice to know, but useless for us non-mechanics. For all I know, the car may need windshield washer fluid or the transmission is about to drop out. Without some fairly idiot-proof documentation explaining the terminology and significance of the test results (especially if everything is not 'OK', the vast majority of us will not find this useful.

It does not really matter what each test implies, ANY failed test is unacceptable.Thursday, August 24 2006 @ 11:54 AM PDT

The original comment has some merit. Sure a bad result is not a good thing. But rather than throw out the entire machine, it would be nice to know something like which memory module needs replacing. You can figure this out from the addresses and such with a little work, but wouldn't it be nicer if the program did this for you?Sunday, September 24 2006 @ 10:56 PM PDT

If you don't know what you're doing enough to know what the output means, it's useful in that you can hand the output off to a technician who can assist you. That being said, if you don't know what the output means, it's also not really that hard to find a book on basic computer tech and learn the minimal necessary to be able to interpret the data.
