The Blacktree utility hasn't been updated since the original beta released a year and a half ago and is, based on my experience and that of other people who've tried it, flaky and unreliable. Service Scrubber is current and seems to work flawlessly (at least for me so far).

Differences I noticed:
Standalone app versus preference pane.
But neither one does the holy grail of Services Menu Editing:
I don't want/need "Chinese Text Converter"...

( I realize there are a billion plus people who might want this, but why HARD ENCODE it Against being removed by these types of tools?

Here's another difference: Service Scrubber can deactivate system-owned services (e.g., ChineseTextConverter, Finder, ...).

Which reminds me... Service Scrubber _is_ capable of deactivating ChineseTextConverter. For some reason, the Scrubber just doesn't see it on some systems. The following might help: Navigate to ChineseTextConverter in the Finder ("/System/Library/Services/ChineseTextConverterService.app"), press [command]-[i], and reload services in Service Scrubber.

As improbable as it may seem, this has worked for some users. I'm also working on better scanning for services right now.
