Existing users, 
That's it: I downloaded the archive file, unpacked it, double-clicked the MPlayer application icon, and nothing happened. No life at all. Trashed my existing MPlayer prefs, still no joy.
The readmes suggest compiling the application as the best way to get a working version of MPlayer.

I agree I find VLC to be a lot more valuable however there are still things it will not open. As to why it won't we have yet to figure it out?Reply to This
