Alright so there is a new version of Lime Wire but it still doesn't fix any of the same old bugs I have seen over the past 2 years. Beaware it runs amock through Kernel level operations. I'm not so sure about any DRM implecations but I tried this version out on a dummy system and it has slowed down by 30% so far, Due basic normal user habits; I leave the machine on all night, at first I don't do any clean permission disk utilities for the first three weeks. a couple of days ago I wanted to see how see he was doing, so I started w/ a permissions repair, revcieved a error, went on to do a boot from 10.4.3 disk repair. System crashed before completion of repair. I did a clean install and Tiger works fine now. Tiger worked previously w/ no problems before.
I repair many Apple and (...) computers at work. 7 out of 10 times a student or faculty member comes in with problems relating to os 10.2-4 I find 98% of lime wire users to have a problem with there mac, a version of Lime-Wire Installed and ultimately it is big player in the root of the problem. Stay away from Lime wire! I have never seen any version run with out messing up Mac Root system level functions.
Try Bittorent! It is a stable peer-to-peer software.
PC's stay the - away!!!!! Lime Wire is festering w/ spyware and malicious code just waiting for you to download your favorite mp3 and it is quietly attached.
