Can anyone compare this to SilverKeeper?

Feedback Type:  Usage Tip

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

Recommend Product: NO

I have used the little-known LaCie SilverKeeper application (Silverkeeper.com) for several years. It appears to have always had all these features, been the poster-child of simplicity and it's free. So is this better somehow or is Silverkeeper just a well-kept secret?

Try it yourself! - dnanian

I encourage you to download and try it yourself -- it's free to use for this kind of thing, and you can get a good feel for SuperDuper! and make up your own mind...

SilverKeeper can make a bootable clone, you can schedule backups, synchronize folders, compare backups to original folders, exclude certain items from a backup, it has an easy to use user interface supporting drag-and-drop, comes with detailed instructions using Apple's Help Viewer (like all other Apple apps), and is supported well and continues to be updated. With the 2.0 release, it appears SuperDuper can now do most of the same, but it costs $28 to unlock the features past basic cloning. SilverKeeper is freeware. I've tried both, and they are both very good, but for the money, I've decided to KEEP MY SILVER. ;)
