I've use BroadbandOptimizer for years. I'm running the latest 1.5 version of BO. I took it to the trash, installed Apple Broadband Tuner, and then restarted. I have a 5Mbps connection through Time Warner Cable. I saw a decrease in internet speed from about 4700Kbps to 3900Kbps, averaging 3 test runs. I may do more testing later, but initial test show BroadbandOptimizer works better for me. YMMV.

Broadband Optimizer works better for me - keweenawkid_dotmac

I also have TimeWarner's 5 Mbps cable service, and my experience was the same - I get better speed with Broadband Optimizer than with Apple's BT.
