Firstly MTR is a fantastic product. It seems with this latest version that I keep getting the error message 'bad sectors' after a rip... is there any reason for this...?

Mr/Ms Dotmac,Go to the developer's web site (via this web site) and register as a user. Go to the forum and get details from Geezerbut. Note: He/she needs money to finally finish off v.3. It is in pre-release form and access to the app. is via donation. Send a private message to the developer and he/she will reply.
At present some dvds are just too hard to rip. European and Bollywood dvds are the worst. What dvds are giving you problems?
On occasion Tiger also gives problems as well. You can either wait for version 3 or try the pre-release puppy. Likewise if you're really having problems go to web site and join the forum. It's really helpful. I'm just an ordinary MTR user and when I started I had teething problems. Between the manual and the forum I was able to overcome many problems. I also realised that sometimes crap happens and you just have to make allowances for insoluble problems.
Hang in bro and be patient.

You're using 2.6.6 right? Bad sectors are caused by copy protection. Sometimes MTR doesn't handle this too well. Apparently v. 3.x recognises this much more effectively. The "Pad" and Delete (job)" options can help. You must read the manual to learn the subtleties of the program. This will help you enormously. MTR has a c.95% success rate. Not bad for a free app.Reply to This
