Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

Recommend Product: YES

I agree that it would be nice to have Front Row on all Macs, but there's one small problem - Front Row is designed for use with the iMac's included remote and IR port, which no other Macs have. If you can't use Front Row from across your room, you might as well just open your iLife apps from the dock the old fashioned way.

It may be a software pckage, but it's (more or less) hardware dependant, and I doubt that Apple has any plans to offer or officially support/sanction backwards compatibility. HOWEVER, that's not to discount the possibility that Apple may create monitors in the future with IR ports and iSights built-in.

At least that's what I hope. :)

the Software requires specific Hardware… - vancem

I use it on a mini with a wireless kkeyboard and mouse - sitting on the sofa and viewing on a 50" plasma... The remote would be nice, but the keyboard works great...

Do a little research eh? - Xapplimatic

OH come on already, I thought Mac users were more resourceful than that!!
The hacked version works perfectly across my room! Why don't you just put out the $49.95 and get yourself a completely PER PROGRAM CONFIGURABLE KeySpan Digital Remote... works absolutely fine with Front Row on older G5s, and G4s even.
