piracy tool...author beware! (url) - Jeff Mincey

Beware? Beware of what? The only people who need to beware are those who USE this tool to infringe on copyrights. Those who use this tool for other purposes need not beware in the least. File sharing is a perfectly legitimate technology.

yeah but seriously... do you believe even for a minute that more than 1 or 2% of people are using this for "legitimate" file sharing? That's why I find it amusing that the constant nags to buy it claim that you'll get "good karma" from paying the developer. Good karma?! Er... it searches networks that let you download music, software and films. It's not exactly legal, is it.

The software itself is perfectly legal, but certain uses of it are not.

yeah.. can you name one use - one REAL use that people actually do - for p2p software that's fully legal?

<whine>Yes, distributing Linux distros!</whine>

But seriously, all that is on the Gnutella network is porn and illegal music. The only p2p system that has a strong legal ground is BitTorrent. I have even used the network to try and find legal music, to no avail.
