spam perhaps?

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Contributed by: hkim Monday, November 07 2005 @ 07:01 PM PST

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

Recommend Product: NO

Quote: "Even insert a special variable that'll write lines at random, or in sequential order. " and from the the developer's documentation: "Generally, these are used to help your quality non-spam e-mail bypass strict spam filters by making your message even more unique for each person it is sent to."This is exactly what spammers do to defeat spam filters. I guess the author of this application is telling us is that this is a nice spam tool for OSX since there is no other possible reason to include such a feature. I hope these people lose revenue because of such software.

spam perhaps? - Koingo Software

Not at all. As a business, we send out a newsletter to our previous customers, as do many other businesses. Often, these newsletters are INCORRECTLY labelled as SPAM. The feature you describe, yes, could technically be used for evil, but its intent is to help legit campaigns surface above the garbage.

Spammers moved to zombies - Ilgaz

I doubt there is a single moron out there who would spam using a legit IP and legit software.

Spam software is totally non existent now, spammers rely on open proxies and zombie machines.

One can "prove" the spam filter using subscribers real name at header of mailing so if there are couple of morons marking legit mail they subscribe to as "spam", others will be non effected.
