MenuMeters "broken" in 10.4.3

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Love 1.2.2 - rock solid in 10.4 up to & including 10.4.2; installed 10.4.3 via combo updater on iMac 1.8. Everything works well EXCEPT - MenuMeters. Did clean re-install, will not load. error message: menu extra will not load, check documentation. f.w.i.w. - TextSpander & Snard (2.4.2) loads & works.

Please Fix - I miss MenuMeters & am considering going bak to 10.4.2 just to get it back. I am holding off updating my PB Al15 to 10.4.3 for now for this reason.

sg
System Info:iMac 17" - 1.8GHz - 1 GB Ram - only mods Textpander & Snard (& MenuMeters all loaded at system level)

MenuMeters IS NOT "broken" in 10.4.3 - Andreas..

Sorry, Svend, but the problem seems to be at your end. Upgrading to OS 10.4.3 has made no difference for me - all components of MenuMeters work purrrrrfectly.

Yes it is. I get a message on startup saying that it's incompatible. When's the fix?

Lukasha ~ Some logic please. "I get a message on startup saying that it's incompatible" has to be a true statement because you get the msg. "Yes it is [broken in 10.4.3]" has to be untrue because it works for others (including me) in 10.4.3. Ergo the problem has to be at your end and it is you who has to find the fix. Are you sure you have downloaded either v1.2.1 or v1.2.2? (Either should be fine for OS 10.4.3). Have you browsed at the Developer's Site? There are some incompatibilities that are possibly causing your problem.

I updated to 10.4.3 on my iMac G5 2.0GHz, and MenuMeters is still working fine for me. I think it is something specific to your computer.

Nenu meters IS BROKEN in 10.4.3. Every time I log out and log back in it fails to load AND breaks loading any other menu extras. So, I have to restart to log out. DUH! IT IS GONE OF MY MACHINE!

MenuMeters "broken" in 10.4.3 - version21

I might have a solution, it fixed the 'not loading' problem for me. First, i made sure no menumeter is running. Then i deleted the .plist file () form /Users/username/Library/Preferences.
Third: I moved the MenuMeters.prefPane out of my /Users/username/Library/PreferencePanes/ directory and in to /Library/PreferencePanes/.
Put up some meters, log out, log in et voila.

In 'Apple Discussions" there is a thread wich, I think, will help most of you with missing Menumeters etc. in the Apple Menu Bar.

'Throw away the following 'plist": library>preferences>com.apple systemuiserver.plist'

Restart your Mac. You shall have to reestablish some of the Apple System Preferences. But that will be all.
