Dropping file on app does not work for me

Used Product For: Less than a month

I tried selecting an HTML file on my desktop, then control-clicked it, selected BBEdit in the FinderPop menu; nothing happened. With nothing selected, BBEdit came forward. Tried also with an RTF file and Mellel; again, nothing.

Is this unique to me? (I have a lot of junk installed!)
