Useless

Feedback Type:  Review

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

1-After 5 years of existence, there has NEVER been a SINGLE virus on Mac OS X. ZERO.

2-If One day, someone finds a way to really create one, this anti-virus will be useless as it doesn't know the virus. You would have to update it, THEN try to clean your files etc.

So OS X is MUCH more vulnerable than we think, hun? Cool, I'll make a deal with you, Norton: As soon as OS X viruses start appearing, I'll buy your product and create a clean boot disk to clean my ingected Mac.

Since OS X is so vulnerable, it shouldn't be long until you see a lot of cash flowing in...

Useless?? - mccormick3

You'd be right... if everyone got the virus at the exact same moment. but they don't - they're Viral, they spread.
If you can get immunity before it gets to you, then the antivirus is worth it.

Useless?? - M.Rick

Find me the virus under OS X, then change the software, because Norton is a shit under Windows, so I can assume it is one under OS X too.

Useless?? - vach

But that's kinda of the point. If you're running OS X, you're ALREADY immune. It's like being Martian walking through New Orleans - the germs simply aren't designed for your system.

I've had several experiences with Norton on the Mac, and the only thing this software does is cost you money and slow down your system. Abandon your Windows mentality - life isn't that bad for all of us!
