Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

When outputting for an iPod, the source video being an XviD .avi file, it works very well if I use H.264 format (though they for some reason call it something else, the acronym of which escapes me at the moment) though it is painfully slow, as is always the case for H.264. If I select the MPEG-4 iPod option instead, I get horrible, horrible results. The resulting video, even when choosing the maximum size/quality, looks like it has been run through an artistic filter - very, very blocky. Anyone else seeing this? I'm almost ready to upgrade from 1.5.7 because the H.264 option works well and, unlike Apple's QuickTime iPod export, it gives quality options, but I also want the MPEG-4 option to work.
System Info:15\" PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz, 10.4.2, 2 GB RAM.
