Existing users, 
I installed version 6.0.1 over my existing 5.0.1 using Software Update. After updating, iTunes will not launch. Or, rather, it launches, shows me a user agreement. After I click on "Accept," it then proceeds to hang and has to be force quit.
I tried restarting. I tried repairing permissions. I tried reinstalling from the standalone downloader. I looked on the Apple discussion forums for a solution. No dice.
I've now downgraded to 5.0.1. Frankly, I don't even care about videos as I'm not 12 years old.

Identify your your hardware, OS, kernel extensions, etc? - Pen Dragon
To help with your situation, please tell us your hardware, OS version and any kernel extensions you are using that are not distributed by Apple. Also, are you using Hymn or something similar? All of this stuff makes a difference. FYI, IMHO, the use of Hymn is okay as long as it's not used to steal music, so this is not a "morality" setup. :)Monday, October 31 2005 @ 03:01 PM PST

Problems with 6.0.1 hanging - mahamilton
I had the same problem. Upgraded to 6.0.1 from 6.0 and now iTunes starts to update podcast subscriptions to my library but hangs. Quitting the app and relaunching helps get through a few more but eventualy I have gotten 'stuck' on one subscription and cannot make more progress.Alright, now how can I easily downgrade back to the previous version, which worked great?
