Uno (with iTuno) does exactly the same thing, only the changes are system-wide, every window. Also free.

It's true that iTuno and SmoothTunes are similar, but to compare SmoothTunes unfavorably to UNO ignores the existence of Iridium (from which SmoothTunes originated, just as iTuno came out of UNO). Iridium, like UNO, is also system-wide and free. I can't directly compare the two as I am on 10.3 and cannot install UNO (I am using Iridium4Panther and SmoothTunes).
